Captapps founder Capt. Joe Crawford started fishing in ST Thomas in 1993 and was blessed with being around many of the best captains and crews in the world at the time . Hurricane Maryland Crushed the island so that lead him on to Kona Hawaii Then ,Madeira then on to Cabo San Lucas to Ecuador and Galapagos .North Carolina to Venezuela St Lucia to Cancun and most points in between before settling down in Central Pacific Costa Rica after his 7th trip through the Panama Canal where he has spent the majority of his last 16 yrs traveling between Costa Rica and Nicaragua with many trips to Cabo and Panama.Having been able to get a taste of the heavy tackle and light tackle through the years and the mentalities and disciplines that goes with both and hearing spending so much time in so many places he got a real feel for the sportfishing world and what it liked and did not like  The idea for Captapp was born in Hawaii in summer of 1997 when Joe was a mate for Momi Glen Bean on a 31 Cabo Mamed Legend. I was frustrated that we could not fish a tournament every day we left the dock.

After participating in a July 4th Global And local tournament. Also thought there should be some way to just  compete on a daily basis.on a global scale .Technology was way behind at the time but the idea never faded. One day in 2014 Joe and the boat owners friends fished a super hot bite late in the afternoon where the two sides of the cockpit were competing. It was just too challenging to try and keep up with all the raises bites releases and by whom they happened with . So He set out to make a logging app that could handle logging for the boat, the captain, the anglers and the mates all at once in a super fast and easy way. Joe hired a web designer he knew who had not built apps and tasked him to try and do this project . Jeff came through and built the first version of the app and what a game changer it was. But we were stuck at a ceiling of knowledge and then partnered with GBM Corp. A few years later and many versions we are now at a stage where we will be providing service for private lodges ,fish clubs ,boats , teams and individuals with capacity to provide analytics ,create and manage video tournaments up to global scale ,regional and down to the smallest local tournament or even boat against boat &,angler against angler if so desired.

Our main focus was to make a logging tool that any level captain would appreciate . Without that we have nothing. One that could keep.

Up with the hottest bites on the planet and still be able to log for the anglers and mates as well. Our amazing custom video camera is made to prevent cheating digitally and is the fulcrum point of our tournament  system. The idea is to have a platform where people can create their tournaments and choose who and where will see them then the app user can check to see if there is anything they would like to try just before starting a log for the day. Or this join  can happen weeks In advance. For Most people fishing tournaments have been for just wealthy people until now. Now anyone can compete against the best boats and captains in the world.
